The Pregnancy Trio Stretches

To optimize your musculoskeletal system between adjustments these three stretches are highly recommended for all pregnant women.

Forward Leaning Inversion: The Right Way

This is NOT the same as downward dog. I love that specific yoga position for stretching and elongating the body, but it is not to encourage optimal fetal position.

The forward leaning version is a technique for an easier birth and optimizing fetal position for a more comfortable pregnancy, and a more successful labor and delivery.

This will help untwist any ligaments in the lower uterus and cervix that could have wound up through twisted posture.

Kneeling afterwards allow for temporary lengthening of the ligaments to align the uterus with the pelvis.

This technique can ALSO help with low back pain discomfort, hip pain, tailbone pain, round ligament discomfort.

Pregnancy: Foam Rolling

This is one of the best ways to decrease muscle tension, increase mobility, and decrease fluid retention!

  • Glutes and Piriformis
  • Lateral hip and legs
  • Calves

There is a correlation between decreased muscle tension in the glutes and a happy pubic bone.

If you struggle with symphysis pubis dysfunction (SPD) then foam rolling the glutes COULD be beneficial!
